Matthew "Matt" Aaron Deal

The St. Stephens Fire Department sadly announces the passing of former Fire Engineer Matthew Aaron Deal. Matt dedicated his time to helping others and loved the work he did. Matt never met a stranger and always went out of his way to listen to others or lend a helping hand. Matt loved his family and especially his nieces. The sound of them calling Uncle Matt will never leave our ears. By the hands of the good Lord Matt was taken from us to soon, but I think we all know it was for a greater purpose. It is with a very heavy heart I make this announcement but I know he would not have wanted it any other way. I am the webmaster for the fire dept. website, but I am also his brother watching over his sister. Matt meant so much to our family and i'm sure he would not want us to be sad. He would rather us celebrate his life and the many memories he has left us. So here's to you Matthew, thanks for a great time and we all look forward to seeing you again.

With Heavy Hearts,
Deal, Wise, St. Stephens Fire Department Families

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now i'm free; i'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard him call; I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.
